Ipad demand is soaring high after several months of its release,. Shares of Apple climbed 3.3 percent to $265.40 in early afternoon trading on Nasdaq.

Apple said Monday it has sold more than 2 million iPads since the device debuted April 3 in the United States.

The announcement followed Friday’s international iPad roll-out, which was delayed by a month as Apple worked to build enough of the devices.

The iPad went on sale in nine international markets, with eager fans standing in line overnight in Europe and Asia to get their hands on the 9.7-inch touchscreen tablet, which resembles a large iPhone and is designed for Web surfing, games and consuming digital media in all its forms.

Finally Nokia and Yahoo

Finally Nokia and Yahoo power combined to get better just like so many companies did every year. It recently tied up with Yahoo to form a worldwide strategic alliance to extend the reach of their online services. The new partnership will allow the people to enjoy rich experiences while connecting to the world around them. The companies did not disclose specific details of cooperation. We widely believed this latest alliance to counter the “iPhone” hot and robust in much of the apple, and with Google with “Android” cell operating system in the field of development effort.

According to the latest agreement, Yahoo, Nokia’s Ovi platform will map their own maps and navigation services and integration services to enable Nokia to become the exclusive Yahoo map and navigation service providers. Previously, Yahoo had been using Nokia’s Navteq digital maps. As “Harvest”, Yahoo will be the sole supplier of Nokia Ovi mail and Ovi chat services.

The Financial Times is reporting that Google is phasing out the internal use of Microsoft’s Windows operating system because of security concerns.

The report, which is short on solid sourcing, quotes Google’s employees as saying the company is steering people towards using Apple’s Mac or the Linux operating system to avoid malicious hacker attacks.

Skype 2.0 for iPhone

Skype 2.0 for iPhone: Is it worth subscribing for 3G VoIP calls? It’s been nearly six months since Apple gave 3G VoIP calls the green light, and Skype is just now following in the footsteps of VoIP clients like Fring and iCall by turning on support for calls over the data network with its own contribution–Skype for iPhone 2.0.

There’s just one catch–Skype’s 3G calling is only on a trial basis for now. In early 2011, the VoIP company will levy a “small monthly fee,” that for now remains undecided according to online reports. Skype has not yet released information explaining how they’ll charge for the service, but we’re guessing subscribers will sign up through in-app purchasing. Via CNET

Pakistan Mosque Attack

At least 20 people have been killed in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore as gunmen armed with grenades attacked two mosques of a minority sect during prayers.

Some worshippers are believed to have been held hostage while gunmen battled with police after seizing control of one mosque, officials and witnesses said.

20 killed in Pakistan mosque attack. The attacks by suspected Islamist militants targeted the Ahmadi sect, which has experienced years of state-sanctioned discrimination and occasional attacks by radical Sunnis. It has never before been hit on such a large scale or co-ordinated fashion.

One of the attackers climbed on top of the minaret of one of the mosques, firing an assault rifle and throwing hand grenades, TV footage showed, while police engaged the attackers in a fierce gunfight.

Police officer Imtiaz Ahmad said several attackers are inside and are thought to be holding hostages.

Outside the other mosque several miles away, a witness complained of police inaction when the attackers struck. “I asked the policeman to open fire. He told me he could not because he only had four bullets in his gun,” said Ghalib Hussain. AP
