Ipad demand is soaring high after several months of its release,. Shares of Apple climbed 3.3 percent to $265.40 in early afternoon trading on Nasdaq.
Apple said Monday it has sold more than 2 million iPads since the device debuted April 3 in the United States.
The announcement followed Friday’s international iPad roll-out, which was delayed by a month as Apple worked to build enough of the devices.
The iPad went on sale in nine international markets, with eager fans standing in line overnight in Europe and Asia to get their hands on the 9.7-inch touchscreen tablet, which resembles a large iPhone and is designed for Web surfing, games and consuming digital media in all its forms.

It recently tied up with Yahoo to form a worldwide strategic alliance to extend the reach of their online services. The new partnership will allow the people to enjoy rich experiences while connecting to the world around them. The companies did not disclose specific details of cooperation. We widely believed this latest alliance to counter the “iPhone” hot and robust in much of the apple, and with Google with “Android” cell operating system in the field of development effort.

The Financial Times is reporting that Google is phasing out the internal use of Microsoft’s Windows operating system because of security concerns.
The report, which is short on solid sourcing, quotes Google’s employees as saying the company is steering people towards using Apple’s Mac or the Linux operating system to avoid malicious hacker attacks. Read more »

Pakistan Mosque Attack

At least 20 people have been killed in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore as gunmen armed with grenades attacked two mosques of a minority sect during prayers.
Some worshippers are believed to have been held hostage while gunmen battled with police after seizing control of one mosque, officials and witnesses said.
20 killed in Pakistan mosque attack. The attacks by suspected Islamist militants targeted the Ahmadi sect, which has experienced years of state-sanctioned discrimination and occasional attacks by radical Sunnis. It has never before been hit on such a large scale or co-ordinated fashion. Read more »
