An inspiring story of Gregory who has a cerebral palsy, he lives in Savannah, Ga and here is his story. “He doesn’t think he has a handicap,” said his father, Don, who accompanied him this week. “That’s the impressive thing.”

Gregory, 30, is almost halfway to accomplishing his goal of walking each hole at every PGA Tour stop in 2008. The Nelson was the 17th stop of a 38-week season.

He writes a blog for the Tour’s Web site and plans to write a book about his journey. Along the way, he has raised money for United Cerebral Palsy. He signed four autographs on Friday and was noticed at almost every hole.

“I know I’m extremely lucky,” Gregory said. “I didn’t start out doing this to be an inspiration or anything like that. It’s just been a lifelong dream. But if I can inspire one person then it’s all worth it, and I’ll play that card.”

Doctors wondered if Gregory would ever walk. His father remembers D.J.’s “Army crawl” that strengthened his upper body.

Gregory mastered a four-wheel walker, then a two-wheel walker, then two canes and finally one.

“I can be stubborn,” he said.

He even plays golf, swinging right-handed, and carries a 36 handicap.
